Hello HBC fans!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I wanted to take some time to give everyone an update on what has been happening at the Brewery recently. The week prior to Christmas we had our zoning board meeting for the Board to decide whether they accept our brewery plans as a rural occupation. Now, all day I was a nervous knowing that this was the day that would either continue with the path I have made or tear everything down we have worked so hard to build. I was sworn in prior to testifying/answering any questions the Board may have. After about 10-15 minutes of testimony and question answering, the Board closed testimony and opened discussion within the Board. No members had any things they wanted to discuss and member-motioned to accept the plans for the Brewery. Next came a second motion to approve. Each member of the Board voted with a yes to accept the plans as stated. At that moment all the hard work our team has put in has paid off. Now with this victory it is only one step in the process of starting brewing. But it is a HUGE hurdle, which we passed. Next step in the process is design and renovation of our building. I believe design will take into the late winter and renovation starting come spring 2018.
I also recently sat down with Jason Scott of the Central Penn Business Journal. He contacted me to request an interview of our brewery and our plans. I sat with him for about a hour to describe who we are and what we are looking to do with our brewery. You can read the article HERE.
We have started to plan our 2018 calendar of brewfest that we will be attending. Keep an eye on out on our events page (a submenu on the main Menu page) and social media channels for confirmed event dates.
That should bring everyone up to speed on what’s happening around the brewery. Once again keep a eye on our Facebook/Twitter/Instagram pages for further updates.
Cheers!
