Owner/brewer Brooks Hemauer loves the taste of a well-made IPA, and this resonates in the majority of his creations, but does love brewing Porters, Ales, and Hefeweizens. He is also not afraid to think out of the box when it comes to the ingredients—he created the “Dilled,” which is an APA with a distinct dill flavor that has received praise from those who have tried a glass.
Originally from Wisconsin, Brooks moved to Pennsylvania in 2005 for a job at Sun Motor Cars Mercedes, where he was a Mercedes-Benz technician for several years before he became a service advisor at Lehman Volvo and later at Faulkner Infiniti/Cadillac.
During the winter months after football ended, Brooks would find himself bored… so in 2014 when his buddy made a homebrew beer batch using a kit, Brooks thought he’d give it a try, just for something to pass the time. He quickly realized he enjoyed the process of making beer, and soon found himself creating his own recipes and participating at local brew festivals like the Gettysburg Brew Fest and the Dauphin County BrewFest at Ft Hunter.
In 2017, Brooks decided he wanted to go pro with brewing and started the process with the state and federal government… it took two years to finalize the paperwork, get clearances, and build the brewery, but in August 2019, Brooks and his wife Shannon opened the production facility on their property located in Dillsburg, PA (No sales are done from this location).
Then on May 01, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Brooks opened the taproom at 1010 Wesley Drive in Mechanicsburg PA for dine-in/curbside/takeout craft beer orders. The ultimate goal for the taproom is to be a place that brings the community together, where friends and families gather for good food and a great brew.
