Hey HBC fans! Summer has flown by so quickly it’s hard to believe! Just wanted to update everyone on what has been going on since our last blog post—we had three different pouring events that we participated in this summer.
The first event was the Dauphin County Brewfest, which was held at Fort Hunter in Harrisburg. The turnout at the event was awesome—we took four different beers and they were all consumed with time remaining. We enjoyed talking to everyone who was patient waiting in the impressive lengthy line to our beer.
Special thanks to Cassie from Molly Pitcher for tapping the firkin.
Amid all these brewfest I have begun writing the Brewery’s business plan. If anyone reading this has taken on the challenge of writing a business plan you know just how daunting of a task it really is. I can tell you at this time the plan is just about complete and equipment is starting to be purchased. Also later this month we anticipate the local township zoning board will have a special hearing to hear arguments to allow us to manufacture our beer at our residence. If they accept our arguments they will grant us a special exemption to the zoning law and we can officially start working on the licensing process with the federal and state government.
And finally we joined the Brewers of Pennsylvania—check out our page HERE—which means we’ll be listed on the PA Beer Trail. SWEET!
So that about brings everyone up to speed on what has been happening at the HBC. At this time there are no events scheduled—time to focus on starting the brewery. But if something is added to the schedule we will let you all know.
Cheers
Brooks
